Pre-Intermediate and Intermediate classes went on an excursion to the Powerhouse. Ben gave us a guided tour of the building and spoke of its history and current status.
The students saw the current photographic exhibition which was composed of award winning photos by Australian journalists. After the tour the students utilised the excellent facilities of New Farm Park to relax and have a barbeque. On their way back to the Citycat the students read the information plaques in the Park. These plaques tell the history of the New Farm area.
We went to the Powerhouse It is a historical building. It once worked as a powerhouse and used to burn coal to move the turbines that created electricity for the trams.
Now-a-days, it holds exhibitions and has theatres. We saw a photographic exhibition and the graffiti on the walls. The graffiti has been preserved. After that we had a barbeque and then came back by Citycat. It was a great experience.

I went to the Powerhouse with my class, I thought it was a wonderful place because it is quite different. The Powerhouse was once an electricity generating station, but now it is a cultural centre.
